The winged figure is called ‘Elevage’ and symbolises the French art of selective maturation and ascension of a wine to its ultimate heights, unfurling its most noble traits. The figure embodies the artisanal craft and traditional, gentle methods employed in the production of both the fruit and the wine.

Landscape artist Strijdom van der Merwe contributed to the creation of a land art version of the logo, making use of two hectares of fynbos plants in the newly planted Hourglass Chardonnay vineyard. This artwork is the first of its kind worldwide; visible from an aeroplane, it stands as a tribute to Biodiversity and Sustainability.
